Purpose
Evidence-based practice begins with a thorough and systematic review of the literature to identify evidence that supports best practices for nursing and healthcare delivery. In order to guide the literature search in a clear and meaningful way, a practice question, sometimes called a PICOT question, is constructed. Practice questions, often constructed as a PICOT question, help to identify specific terms to guide a literature search for evidence. The purpose of this assignment is to construct a practice question using the PICOT framework to guide a literature search for the best evidence regarding the identified practice issue.
